Solar Flare T-shirt |
Materials:
Cardboard
White cotton T-shirt
1 cup of flour
4-cup measuring cup
Squeeze bottle
Fabric spray paint
Spray bottle
1.
Cut the cardboard to fit inside the T-shirt (this will keep the fabric paint from bleeding through later). Mix the flour with water (it should be the consistency of mustard) in the measuring cup right before you're going to apply it so it doesn't have a chance to become gluey and difficult to use. Pour the mixture into the squeeze bottle and then use it to draw a sun pattern on the T-shirt. Let it bake in the hot sun for a couple of hours until hardened. 2.
Spray the shirt with the fabric paint (we used Tulip brand) and let it dry in the sun. 3.
Remove the cardboard, then have your child peel off the flour paste to reveal her summery design. Wash the T-shirt according to the paint manufacturer's directions. source: Disney FamilyFun

Materials:

1 foot 18g wire, soft
1 handmade bead with hole large enough to fit 2 pieces of 18g wire. (Rondell shape works best)
Tools:

Wirecutter
Chain-nose Pliers
Ring Mandrel or dowel in desired ring size - Mandrels can be purchased through jewelry supply outlets and dowels can be found at your local hardware store.
Step 1
- Place center of wire against your form and wrap twice around leaving the tails long.Step 2
- Bend the tails up sharply.Step 3
- Place the bead onto both wires and slide down to the base of the ring.Step 4
- Bend the wires to a right angle directly on the top of the bead.Step 5
- Spiral the wires on top of the bead. This can be a bit tricky, start by making a small circle with one of the wires where it emerges from the bead, then push the other wire behind and against it being careful not to overlap the wires. If you see the spiral start to puff up use a small block of wood and press gently, but firmly on the spiral to push it against the bead as you turn the wires. Continue spiraling until the desired size is achieved. Be sure to leave a tail of at least 2" on each wire to complete.Step 6
- Bring the tail wires down to the ring shank on opposite sides of the bead and wrap around the base of the ring to secure.Step 7
- tuck the wire ends down and you are done!source: Bead Studio

Pretty in Pink Centerpiece |

1. Start by selecting an attractive clear glass container for the centerpiece. Here, an elevated bowl on a glass pedestal was used, but feel free to use a more standard style of bowl for equally lovely effects.
2. Fill the container with fresh water.
3. Select your floating candles.
4. Place the floating candles in the water. To mimic the look in the photo, crowd the candles in the container - for this particular container, four candles was about all it could hold, and we crammed them in! If you prefer a different look, use fewer candles.
5. Now its time to add the Pièce de Résistance - the rose petals. It's the rose petals that really cap off the look in this particular centerpiece design and give it that super-romantic, super-soft visual effect. Just place the petals on water and around the candles, and be sure to also sprinkle them on the table, around the centerpiece to finish that wonderful setting!

Supplies
salvaged railing (from an old crib, porch railing, etc.)
wood screws
wire (to make hooks)
3/8-inch dowels
power strip
nuts, washers, and bolts
primer
paint
scrap 1×4 piece of wood
newspaper or drop cloth
drywall anchors or molly bolts (optional)
Tools
pliers
wire cutters
drill and drill bits
screwdriver
sanding block and sandpaper
miter box and pull saw
small sponge paint brush
stud sensor (optional)
1.
If you can’t find hooks that will work with your railing, get some wire and make some yourself. Use pliers to bend into shape, then cut with wire cutters. I made 18 hooks. 2.
Cut your scrap piece of wood into four 2- x 3-inch pieces, then drill a 7/16-inch hole at one end of each piece. These will hold the dowels. 3.
Prime (one coat) and paint (two coats) the dowel holders. 4.
Attach the dowel holders to the railing with wood screws. Drill two holes in the dowel holders, then drill matching holes in the railing. 5.
Counter-sink the holes with a larger drill bit, then screw in 1-3/4-inch wood screws. 6.
Attach the railing to the wall at the top and bottom with four long screws. Find a stud to hang them from or use molly bolts. 7.
Cut your dowels so they stick out at least a half inch beyond the dowel holders. Slide ribbon and paper onto the dowels, then insert into the holders. Hang all your bins/pegs/etc. on the rack using the hooks you made. Fill with craft supplies. 8.
Mount a power strip to the side of your workstation. Use screws or nails. Make a pencil-rubbing template of the back of the power strip on scrap paper first to determine where to place the nails/screws. 9.
Attach the bench vice to the front left corner (if you’re right-handed) of your work surface using bolts, washers, and nuts. source: Crafty Nest
